The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday, Oct. 25, clarified that there was no date of implementation yet for the lifting of the window hour coding scheme.
“We will assess first the situation of Metro Manila roads from November 6 to 12, after the return of vacationers from the provinces for the Undas break,” MMDA Chairman Don Artes told reporters.
“We expect 15 to 20% additional vehicle volume as the holiday nears, that’s the time we will decide whether or not to implement the 7 am to 7 pm number coding scheme in Metro Manila,” he added.
Artes also underscored that the current number coding scheme from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. would also be observed by the agency.
Meanwhile, MMDA earlier suspended the expanded number coding scheme for the following special non-working days.
