by Alessandra C. Frianela14 August 2024

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and Local Government Units (LGUs) are prepared to provide aid to commuters affected by the three-day transport strike conducted by different transport groups.

According to AFP Spokesperson Col. Francel Padilla, the Joint Task Force NCR has a contingency plan for the transport strike. The plan reportedly involves using AFP vehicles to provide free rides in case passengers become stranded.

Additionally, the MMDA has deployed a minimum of five free shuttle units to be on standby for the three-day transport strike beginning today.

The MMDA mentioned that local government units will also be offering separate free shuttle services for the affected commuters.
