The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) apprehended the vehicle reportedly owned by a senator after using the exclusive EDSA Busway on Thursday, January 11.

According to Val Gonzales' live report during Damdaming Bayan, the senator, whose name was not mentioned, was not present during the apprehension.
"Wala naman po tayong nakita even narinig. We have no actual details videos of the apprehension kung sino man po 'yon," MMDA Special Operations Group-Strike Force Gabriel Go said.
"Whether kung sino man po siya, as long as he violated a policy, we have to issue a ticket, yung tamang apprehension," he added.
The driver of the vehicle presented his license and was penalized with Php5,000, corresponding to his first offense.
In the Philippines, a plate with the number 7 is identified as the vehicle of a senator, while the number 8 is for representatives or congressmen.
