Former Aliaga, Nueva Ecija Mayor David Angelo Vargas has been appointed as the new Assistant General Manager (GM) for Operations of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
In a statement on Thursday, the agency said Vargas took his oath at the MMDA Head Office in Pasig City on Tuesday, June 27.
MMDA acting chairperson Don Artes led the oath-taking ceremony.
In a brief remark, Vargas vowed to be rapid in "delivering public service".
"My notable experience in the local government has honed my capabilities as a public servant. Hence, I will serve Metro Manila residents with integrity and compassion for the betterment of the metropolis," he said.
Vargas served as the Chief Executive of the Municipality of Aliaga for two consecutive terms from 2013 to 2019.
Before he was elected in the mayoral post, he served as Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Representative of Aliaga from 2010 to 2013.
