Classes in all levels in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) were suspended on Friday, September 22, due to smog formation, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

In an advisory, the MMDA said the class cancellations were based on the announcement of 17 Local Government Units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that the presence of smog in Metro Manila was due to natural phenomena and not the volcanic smog coming from Taal Volcano.
