ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Joshua Pacio welcomes another chance to prove his mettle against American fighter Jarred Brooks after their rematch ended abruptly at the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar on Friday, March 1.
The Filipino mixed martial arts champion said that he has unfinished business with Brooks after their last match concluded with the disqualification of Brooks due to an illegal slam.
"As an athlete naman, for how so many years or months ka nag-prepare going into this fight tapos nauwi lang sa (disqualification), medyo malungkot," Pacio said on DZRH's Matchpoint.
"It is an unfinished business between me and Jarred Brooks so expect a trilogy match between us," he added.
While the camps of Pacio and Brooks still need to iron out the details regarding the third match between the two fighters, the Filipino hopes to fight in front of his countrymen before the end of 2024.
"As an athlete gusto ko ay this year. Sana ay matuloy iyan and, of course, sana dito sa Pilipinas," he said.
Pacio and Brooks first faced one another at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in December 2022.
The American fighter seized the ONE Strawweight Championship belt after winning against Pacio via unanimous decision.
