Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) chairman Nur Misuari has been convicted of 2 counts of graft for anomalous transactions in 2000 and 2001.

While governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Misuari allegedly procured educational materials from MBJ Learning Tools in December 21, 2000, which amounted to P31 million.

On July 24, 2001, Misuari allegedly purchased P46.26 million worth of information technology (IT) packages from CPR publishing.

None of these educational materials were delivered.

Misuari and his accomplices falsified such documents as disbursement vouchers, purchase orders, canvas reports, delivery receipts to make the transactions seem legitimate.

The accomplices are Leovigilda Cinches, Pangalian Maniri, Sittie Aisa Usman, Alladin Usi, Nader Macagaan, and Cristeta Ramirez.

Misuari was acquitted of malversation, but according to the resolution of the Sandiganbayan's third division, he has been unable to present new arguments in his motion for reconsideration concerning his graft case.

The case started as a complaint filed by the Office of the Ombudsman in May of 2017.
