A fisherman who went missing for three days was found in the vicinity waters off Agno, Pangasinan, on Sunday, March 10, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In a report by the PCG, the fisherman, who was identified as Dexter Abalos, 32, was rescued by the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon.

Abalos, a resident of Brgy. Aloleng, Agno, Pangasinan, said he went fishing on Thursday, March 7, but his motorboat was suddenly hit by a dolphin which caused it to capsize.

"Fortunately, he managed to swim towards a fish marker, locally known as "payao," and tied his motorbike to it. Mr. Abalos stayed there for days, waiting for a rescue to arrive," the PCG said.

Abalos was sent back to the Agno Municipal Fish Port in Agno, Pangasinan, where he received immediate medical attention from the local rural health unit.

The fisherman's family reportedly conveyed their appreciation to the PCG for saving their beloved relative.
