The country's COVID-19 task force has allowed minors below 18 years old and fully vaccinated individuals over 65 years old from Metro Manila to travel to areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ.

On Friday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) released the list of persons allowed interzonal travel to GCQ and MGCQ areas:

  • those below 18 years old

  • fully vaccinated individuals over 65 years old

The point-to-point interzonal travel, however, is still subject to guidelines and health protocols as may be prescribed by the Department of Tourism and the local government unit of destination.

The IATF earlier eased the rules on the interzonal travel of fully-vaccinated persons, which includes senior citizens, and only required that they present proof of their complete COVID-19 vaccination instead of COVID-19 test results.

Starting October 15, the government will start vaccinating minors aged 12 to 17 years old.
