The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that Taal Volcano emitted a steam-driven or minor phreatomagmatic eruption at 5:58 AM on Tuesday, December 3.
A 2,800-meter grayish plume was generated from the main crater of Taal Volcano Island during the early hours.
Alert Level 1 continues to be enforced over Taal Volcano following its recent eruption.
Furthermore, it also emitted a moderate plume 600 meters in height, with the emission drifting southwest.
Meanwhile, entry to Taal Volcano Island remains prohibited, particularly around the main crater and Daang Kastila fissures and staying on Taal Lake.
PHIVOLCS also cautioned that sudden steam or phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, light ashfall, and the emission of toxic gases could take place.
"Dahil sa biglaang pagputok na ito, inirerekomenda ang agarang pag-iingat at pagsunod sa abiso ng Lokal na Pamahalaan," MDRRMC Talisay said in their post.
