South Korean record label PLEDIS Entertainment announced Thursday, Oct. 26, that SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu will pause further activities this week to prioritize his health following a “sudden and crippling lower back pain.”
“Mingyu experienced a sudden, crippling lower back pain that warranted medical treatment. Upon being examined, he was advised by the medical staff to take time off and have his recovery process monitored,” South Korean outlet Soompi stated via the record label’s post on WeVerse.
PLEDIS stated that despite Mingyu’s commitment to participate in the promotional activities given the release of their latest album, they prioritized his health and fixed the K-pop idol’s schedule during the promotion period.
“We regret to inform you that for the reasons stated above, Mingyu will not be able to participate in the activities scheduled for this week, including music shows and the fansign event. We extend our sincerest apologies and ask for your kind understanding on the matter,” the record label added.
PLEDIS told CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fandom name) they would provide further updates regarding Mingyu’s resumption of activities.
SEVENTEEN earlier announced their 11th mini album “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN”.
Last Oct. 23, the 13-piece group released the music video of their album’s title track, “God of Music.”
