Filipino vlogger and social media personality Mimiyuuuh looked back on his family's life when they used to sell clothes in Baclaran during Christmas season before his Youtube breakthrough.
In a vlog posted on Wednesday, Mimi and his siblings recalled that Christmas used to be a “normal day” for them.
“Nung hindi pa po ako nagv-vlog, sympre wala pa kaming pera no’n, and I really felt na ‘yung Christmas namin dati ay hindi talaga siya special. Kasi every Christmas, obligated ako mag-work, mag-tinda, [at] tutulong kami sa parents namin,” he shared.
Mimi admitted that he envied families who could celebrate Christmas in a prosperous way.
“Since puyat po kami ng [December] 24 kasi nagtitinda kami sa Baclaran, simbang gabi ganiyan. ‘Yung Christmas namin, ikakain na lang namin. Tutulog kami. Ang kain lang namin no’n ay Andoks,” he recalled.
The 26-year-old vlogger and his siblings unanimously said that they used to be contented with only Andoks chicken for Christmas feast.
His brother added that they used to eat Andoks when there were occasions only.
“Oo, kailangan may occasion bago kami makakain ng Andoks. Ngayon, parang ang galing na I get to work with Andoks, with the brand I really love. Kaya parang nostalgic talaga itong experience na ‘to para sa akin,” Mimi said.
Mimi rose to fame after his lip-sync cover videos of “Dalagang Pilipina” and “It Really Hurts” went viral on social media platforms.
A few years later, he launched his Youtube channel and became one of the fastest-growing Youtube personalities. As of writing, he has over four million subscribers.
Mimi is also an endorser of various brands and a model.
In March this year, he relaunched his own clothing brand "Fangs."
