A millennial bettor from Puerto Princesa, Palawan won the jackpot prize of P36 million with the winning combination drawn for the 6/42 Lotto after being a sweepstake player for nearly a decade.
He said he would be using the prize money for real estate investments and business ventures after claiming his winnings at the PCSO Main Office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) mentioned that winners have a one-year period from the draw date to claim their winnings. The failure to claim the prize results in forfeiting it to the PCSO Charity Fund.
They also notified the public that winnings of more than P10,000 were subject to a 20 percent final tax to comply with the provisions stated under the TRAIN Law.
