Various progressive groups staged a protest on Thursday, Nov. 30, the 160th birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio.
According to RH Boy Gonzales' report during DZRH Damdaming Bayan, the groups that participated in the protest were Kilusang Mayo Uno, Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino, ALL WORKERS UNITY, and Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide.
Members of the aforementioned groups started the protest in Kalaw and Taft Avenue and proceeded to the United States Embassy on Roxas Blvd.
They demanded just wages for laborers, asserted worker's rights, aired opposition to the public utility vehicle (PUV) phaseout, and raised other social issues.
The Manila Police District (MPD), however, did not allow the protestors to proceed to the US Embassy.
The groups were only allowed to finish the program after passing the corner of Kalaw and Del Pilar Street.
The labor groups then headed to Mendiola to continue the protest.
