Michelle Marquez Dee has revealed that she would love to get a tattoo by Apo Whang-Od, the living legendary mambabatok or traditional tattoo artist.

During her homecoming press conference last Dec. 10, Dee mentioned that she living legendary mambabatok would be visiting together with Mark Bumgarner, the fashion designer and the brain behind her iconic Apong Whang-Od-inspired evening gown she wore during Miss Universe 2023 last month.

In regards with the tattoo design, the beauty queen said that it would be the living legend’s decision on what she would want to ink on Dee’s skin.

She also mentioned that Bumgarner had already met the legendary tattoo artist months ago, which may have become the reason to come up with the design for her evening gown.

According to Dee, she was about to see Apo Whang Od prior to the competition, but it was canceled due to the typhoon.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 title holder wants to personally thank the living legendary mambabatok for giving inspiration to everyone, particularly cultural preservation.

On her homecoming parade, Dee wore another Bumgarner creation, a white asymmetrical pantsuit inspired by Apo Whang Od seen on the long train and beaded tattoo patterns from the neck to her right arm.

Dee was extremely welcomed by her fans during her homecoming parade held at the SM Mall of Asia Complex.
