The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced on Monday, February 5, that it will conduct a series of scheduled electrical maintenance activities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) starting Feb. 6 until March 7.
NAIA Terminals 1 and 2, the International Cargo Terminal, the MIAA Admin Building, and the airfield will be the affected areas of the said electrical maintenance activities.
According to the airport authority, this is part of the ongoing upgrade of NAIA’s electrical systems, noting that minimal disruptions will occur in several areas.
Meanwhile, MIAA assured the riding public that critical systems used for passenger processing will "remain operational."
"The MIAA sees no significant impact of the scheduled work on flight operations," it noted.
MIAA said it will meet all stakeholders to inform them regarding the maintenance schedules.
"A prior meeting with MIAA's service provider and Meralco led to a unified strategy to ensure uninterrupted flight and passenger movement during the subject period," said the airport authority.
