The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said on Tuesday, December 5, that there was no damage observed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) following the magnitude 5.8 earthquake that strucked Occidental Mindoro and was felt in Metro Manila.
"The engineering and operations teams of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) conducted an immediate check of NAIA's airside and terminal facilities," MIAA Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co said in a statement.
Co said the MIAA does not expect any significant effect on flight operations.
According to PHIVOLCS, the quake happened at 4:23 PM with its epicenter traced at Lubang town in Occidental Mindoro.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 79 kilometers.
