The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has started to conduct its electrical maintenance activities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 today, Nov. 29.
"#MIAAGovPH will conduct a series of scheduled electrical maintenance activities at NAIA Terminal 3 starting on November 29 as part of its commitment to improve the overall reliability of the terminal's electrical systems. Critical systems will continue to operate without adverse impact to flight schedules," said MIAA in a Facebook post.
On Nov. 26, the airport authority announced its plans to conduct a series of scheduled electrical maintenance activities.
MIAA said that the initiative is part of the ongoing commitment to enhance and upgrade the terminal's electrical system under the agency's medium-term program.
Scheduled maintenance work will involve a three-hour power interruption at Terminal 3.
The power interruption will occur from midnight or 12 a.m. until 3 a.m.
All vital systems, including boarding bridges, immigration booths, security scanners, check-in counters, conveyor belts, and other critical areas, will continue to function as usual, despite the possibility of slight disruptions in particular areas.
Meanwhile, MIAA officer-in-charge Bryan Co extended his apologies for any inconvenience caused by the necessary preventive maintenance, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining uninterrupted flight operations.
“We assure the public that this scheduled electrical upgrading and maintenance is a vital step toward enhancing the airport’s electrical system reliability,” Co said in a statement.
