Host-comedian and actress Melai Cantiveros gave everyone laughter as she went on stage to receive her award at the Asia Artist Award 2023 held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on Dec. 14.

Cantiveros shared the stage with other famous South Korean actors, Kim Sejeong, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Dong Hwi, and Lee Jun Hyuk, who are also recipients of the AAA Best Actor award.

Surprised by the award, Cantiveros delivered a humorous speech, drawing everyone's laughter.

"If anyone questions why I won [an] award, don't worry, I question [it] too. I just receive [an] award all of my life from my father and mother when they are angry at me,” the Magandang Buhay host said.

She thanked her fellow actors for the success of their film “Ma’am Chief” and left everyone laughing with her continuous funny remarks in her speech.

"My heart is...I think...God moves in mysterious ways. I cannot believe what food they eat [and] why they chose me. Thank you AAA, I cannot believe this is happening. I'm very sorry to the Koreans, I'm [just] so overwhelmed. Thank you Lord, to my family, we will serve the Lord," she added, which made everyone go loud and wild, even the SB19 members watching and listening to her talk.

"Ma'am Chief” continued to express her heartfelt gratitude to the producers, directors, and her family.
