Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday, Nov. 28, apologized for the traffic that her convoy caused along Katipunan Avenue-Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City, noting that this was not intentional.
In a statement posted on Quezon City government's official Facebook page, Belmonte said a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer initiated to stop the traffic to give way for her convoy to pass through Katipunan corner Aurora Boulevard.
The Quezon City Mayor directed the Department of Public Order and Safety, Office of the City Mayor Task Force for Transport and Traffic Management, and other local agencies to coordinate with MMDA to review and amend the traffic protocol in such circumstances.
