No scheduled daily water interruptions will be implemented in certain areas of Metro Manila this weekend, July 15 and 16, as observed over the past two days.
According to the advisory from Maynilad Water Services, their service will continue without interruptions in parts of Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Valenzuela, Navotas, and Quezon City.
"Hindi ipapatupad ngayong weekend, July 15 at 16, 2023, ang scheduled daily water interruptions sa ilang bahagi ng Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Valenzuela, Navotas at Quezon City," the announcement read.
The water concessionaire explained that the strong rainfall brought by Typhoon Dodong in the Ipo watershed area has been beneficial.
As a result, the impact of reduced water allocation from Angat Dam has been mitigated.
Based on the " target="_blank" rel="noopener">latest water level readings of several dams in Luzon by PAGASA, there has been a slight increase in water elevation due to the recent rainfall.
Maynilad had previously announced the implementation of water interruptions in the mentioned areas starting from July 12 as part of water conservation measures due to El Niño.
