Maynilad Water Services Inc. has announced that customers residing in certain areas of Las Piñas City, and Bacoor and Imus in Cavite will encounter daily service disruptions starting from June 28 until August 8.
According to a statement released on Sunday, Maynilad specified that the service interruptions will occur from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The reason for these interruptions is the replacement of three initial ultrafiltration membranes at the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2. The company has planned to replace a total of eleven membranes.
"We are scheduled to replace all 14 UF Membranes so the facility can maintain optimum filtration capacity. This replacement will be done in batches, to minimize the impact on customers of the resulting lower water production," the company said in a statement.
"After this initial batch of three membranes is removed and changed with new ones, we will provide an update on the next schedule of service interruption for when the remaining 11 membranes will be replaced," it added.
Maynilad stated that this activity is being conducted in preparation for the upcoming Amihan Season, expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023.
