Maris Racal made a shocking revelation when she confirmed her split from singer-songwriter Rico Blanco, during the Star Magic Press Conference on Friday, July 12.
During the press conference of her new film, Marupok AF. On its duration, Rascal was repeatedly asked about her perspective and thoughts on romantic relationships, including her own. However, things took a turn when asked if she sees herself ending up with Rico in the future, to which she responded with yes.
Prior to the start of her interview, reporters expected Maris would trend online, captivating fans with her unmatched wit and charming personality. But the person that spoke before them, was someone at a crossroads in life.
She described her separation with Rico as the "loneliest and emptiest weeks" that she has ever experienced; Adding how it has only been a few weeks. She continued to tell how beautiful their universe was; how it was full of love, laughter, music, and everything else.
In the five years they spent together, they were always in sync. Maris then told everyone that maybe she saw a new perspective in life, and turned to the next page.
"I had visions of who I wanted to become; of how I wanted to evolve. I'm so curious about the world. And the truth is, I am going through changes. And alam naman natin 'yon na change is either good or bad. But what I hate about change is that it is inevitable. Hindi mo siya matatakasan ( We all know that change is either good or bad. But what I hate about change is that it is inevitable. You can't escape it)," Maris confessed.
Their break up was difficult and complex for both parties, but she assured fans that it was a polite one, full of love and understanding.
She also reiterated that there was no third party involved, and humbly asked the public to look at them with love and understanding; stating how both of them are grieving still.
In spite of all the inner turmoil and changes that Maris is experiencing, she told fans to just ride the waves, whether high or low, that come around; Eventually reaching a point closer to one's destination.
"If I could still talk to him everyday I would. Hindi ‘yon mawawala sa akin. He will always be in my heart," Maris said.
