Marikina river reaches 2nd alarm; water level now at 17.1 meters
by Mary Antalan02 September 2024
The water level in Marikina River continued to rise on Monday, September 2, due to ongoing rains caused by Typhoon Enteng. The water level has now reached the second alarm.
In its latest update, the Marikina Public Information Office (PIO) reported that the water level had risen to 17.1 meters as of 9:40 a.m.
Residents living near the river are advised to prepare for evacuation as potential flooding threatens their homes.
Marikina City was one of the hardest-hit areas during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Carina on July 24, which caused the river to swell and led to flooding in several barangays.
