The local government of Marikina City on Saturday said it will take legal action against the drone system and operator for mistakenly displaying an inverted Philippine flag in a drone show during the 63rd Palarong Pambansa's closing ceremony.
In a video uploaded by uploader Engr. Berto on Facebook page, various images were displayed in the sky, and one of these was the countrys flag.
But it can be seen that the formation of the country’s flag was interchanged — the red color was placed above the blue.
"Mariing kinondena ng Marikina City Government sa pangunguna ni Mayor Marcy Teodoro ang pangyayari," it said in a statement.
The Marikina City Government said it will sue Dronetech PH once it is determined that the company has legal responsibility.
"[K]asama na rin ang mga kalakip na kaparusahan at multa," it added.

Section 10 of Republic Act No. 8491 stated that if the country flag is in a hanging position, "the blue field shall be to the right in time of peace, and the red field to the right in time of war."
The 2023 Palarong Pambansa started on July 29 and it concluded on August 5.
More than 9,000 athletes from 17 regions participated in the 34 sports of the competition.
