Marikina City Rescue rescued the man who climbed on an 18.29-meter-high electric post at the Tambuli Street corner of Old JP Rizal Avenue in Brgy. Kalumpang, Marikina City on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 23, after nearly 30 hours.

According to RH Val Gonzales' report, the man, whose name was not disclosed by the authorities, was finally rescued and brought down from the electric post at around 4:16 in the afternoon.

He was brought to the nearby health center for a treatment.

The man climbed on the electric post on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 22.

Due to his action, electric lines were forced to be shut off for safety, making households in the vicinity experience inconvenience and causing traffic congestion in the area.

Two firetrucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection and a number of ambulances, as well as rescuers from Marikina and Quezon City, were present to rescue the unnamed man.

His two siblings also tried to convinced him to go down the electric post.

The authorities have yet to determine the man’s reason for climbing up the pole.
