President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday announced that arrest warrants have been issued for former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co and 17 other individuals tied to Sunwest Corporation and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
In a video message posted on social media, the President urged law enforcement agencies not to delay arrests and to ensure that they are carried out quickly and with integrity.
“Hindi po ito haka-haka. Hindi po ito kuwento. Ito po ay tunay na ebidensya,” Marcos said.
The move is part of the government’s ongoing crackdown on alleged corruption involving anomalous flood control projects.
Marcos told law enforcement agencies to apprehend the suspects immediately.
“Wala nang paligoy-ligoy pa, ang ating mga awtoridad ay siyempre papatupad na nila itong mga arrest warrant na ito," he said.
He also warned that the perpetrators will face full legal consequences: "Aarestuhin na sila, ihaharap sa korte at pananagutin sa batas."
"Walang special na pagtrato, walang sinasanto," the President noted.
“Ako ang nagsimula nitong lahat, ako ang magtatapos," he added.
Marcos expressed gratitude to the Filipino people for their patience.
"Nagbunga na ng resulta ang mga pasensya ninyo," he said.
