President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., during the kickoff of Brigada Eskwela on Monday, vowed government support for teachers to help them teach more effectively and better serve their students.

During the orientation of 200 newly hired public school teachers, Marcos highlighted the vital role of educators, expressing that he considers them the country's greatest hope and true heroes.

He further emphasized that he often reminds the public that teachers did not choose the profession to get rich, to become famous, or to pursue a career in politics, but to fulfill their calling to educate.

"Ang gagaling naman ng mga teacher natin. Kulang lang siguro sa suporta. Susuportahan namin kayo," said Marcos.

"Hindi lamang sa financial support, kung hindi pati na sa mga retraining. Ito nga ‘yung binabawasan nating administrative duties, ‘yung mga ganyang klase, para makapagturo kayo nang mabuti," he added.

Marcos reiterated the importance of a collective effort to improve the education system, emphasizing that students should graduate fully equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.

He stressed that whether they choose to pursue higher education or enter the workforce, they should be well-prepared to succeed in whatever career path they choose.

The President visited Barihan Elementary School in Malolos City, Bulacan, to lead the official launch of this year’s Brigada Eskwela. He personally inspected the classrooms being repaired, examining the ceilings, windows, doors, and even the blackboards.

Marcos also visited Tibagan Elementary School in San Miguel, Bulacan, where he saw the ongoing classroom repairs and observed various school readiness activities.

Moreover, he took part in an orientation for 20 students utilizing Khan Academy, a free online resource known for its quality learning materials.

Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and the President's youngest son William Vincent were present as he toured the schools.

Brigada Eskwela 2025 is scheduled for June 9 to 13 and will be conducted simultaneously across all regions nationwide.
