President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to embrace the spirit of the Chinese New Year by setting bold intentions and pursuing aspirations that uplift them and the larger community.
In his message on Wednesday, January 29, President Marcos extended his greetings to the Filipino-Chinese community and all those celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Marcos described the Chinese New Year as a "cherished occasion," highlighting it as a vibrant display of cultural richness that symbolizes hope, renewal, and the unwavering spirit of perseverance.
He emphasized that as the Year of the Snake begins, people are reminded to embody the virtues of wisdom, intuition, and transformation, urging everyone to embrace its promise of prosperity with courage and determination.
"As we welcome a new year of self-improvement and good fortune, let this event inspire us to boldly set our intentions and confidently pursue grand ambitions not only for ourselves but for the greater good," said Marcos.
"May this occasion remind us that every challenge is a chance for growth, and every effort, guided by clarity and resolve, is an opportunity to fulfill our shared aspirations," he added.
The President remarked that the vibrant lanterns lighting up the celebration should also inspire and illuminate the nation's shared purpose.
He expressed hope that the Chinese New Year celebration would inspire fresh beginnings, foster fruitful endeavors, and reinforce the collective responsibility to strengthen the bonds that unite the nation.
"May the Year of the Snake guide us with its wisdom and empower us to move through life with grace," Marcos said in closing.
