President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will distribute land titles to at least 1,270 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Coron, Palawan, today, September 19.
The issuance of land titles to farmers is part of the current administration's food security program.
"1,270 po ang makakatanggap ng titulo – that’s equivalent to 2,926.78 hectares of land,” said Joey Villarama, Assistant Secretary for Radio at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), during a briefing with reporters in Coron on Wednesday Wednesday.
In addition to land titles, Marcos will also hand over three farm-to-market road projects, including the San Nicolas to Sitio Caniogan, Busuanga to Caruray, and Sitio Nalbot to Arado thoroughfares.
“Naging priority po talaga ng administration ang food security. As part of the prioritization of ensuring food security for the country, itinataguyod po ng administrasyon ang pangangailangan ng mga magsasaka,” Villarama said.
Furthermore, the Marcos administration aims to distribute 800,000 hectares of farmland to Filipino farmers.
President Marcos will be joined by Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado Estrella III and other government officials during the distribution of Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) and the extension of additional government services.
