President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will still have to check the fresh criticisms made against him by his predecessor, former president Rodrigo Duterte on the issue of Charter Change, saying that the latter has been inconsistent with his statements.
In a press conference on the sidelines of his three-day visit to Germany, President Marcos said he has to examine first Duterte’s comment, knowing the former president has been inconsistent with his statements.
“Na-co-confuse ako kay PRRD papalit-palit eh,” Marcos said.
“So, we will, tignan ko muna kung ano ba talaga ang sinabi niya para maintindihan ko. I think, hindi ko talaga naintindihan kasi parang naiiba bawat salita niya iba. So I will try to make sense of it,” he added.
His statement came after he was asked to comment on Duterte’s remarks about his motive in supporting Charter change.
President Marcos earlier emphasized that introducing reforms to the Constitution would be limited to the basic law’s economic provisions alone.
