President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has extended his deepest sympathies to the families of two Filipino seafarers who were confirmed killed in a missile attack in the Gulf of Aden last week.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post on Sunday, March 10, Marcos vowed to exhaust efforts to repatriate the remains of the two Pinoys.
"I join the nation in offering our deepest sympathies to the families of the two Filipino seafarers who perished in the Houthi attack on True Confidence. The government is in constant contact with their families, and we will spare no effort in bringing their remains home," he said.

The migrant workers department confirmed in a statement last March 7 that two Filipino crew members died after Houthi rebels attacked the civilian bulk carrier True Confidence that was navigating the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Two other Filipinos were said hurt in the tragedy.
The Embassy in Cairo, according to the president, is working on the safe return of the 13 surviving Filipino seafarers to the country.
Marcos said he has directed concerned agencies to assist the affected seafarers and their families.
"The Philippines joins global calls for the end to this conflict and for full respect for the principle of freedom of navigation," he remarked.
"We remain firmly committed to the safety and welfare of our seafarers and overseas Filipino workers in the region," the president added.
The foreign affairs department has also sent its its sincere condolences to the families of the slain Filipinos.
