The Philippines condemned the terrorist attacks against the civilian population of Israel.
“The Philippines condemns the attacks, especially against civilian populations,” the Office of the President (OP) said in a statement posted on the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Facebook page on Sunday, Oct. 8.
It added that the country “understands the right of states to self-defense in the light of external aggression as recognized in the United Nations Charter.”
"The Philippines conveys its deepest sympathies and condolences to those who have lost family members and loved ones in recent attacks,” the OP furthered.
Based on Reuter’s report on Saturday, Oct. 7, the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched a surprise attack throughout Israeli towns.
The deadly rampage prompted the Israeli government to declare a “state of war” in the country.
Following this, the Philippine Embassy in Israel has issued an advisory that urges Filipinos living near Gaza Envelope, Western Negev, Central Negev, Western Lachish, Lachish Area, Shfelat Yehuda Area, HaShfela Area, Yarkon Area, Dan Area, Sharon Area, and Jerusalem to follow Israel Home Front Command’s safety guidelines.
“Ang inyong kaligtasan at kapakanan ay mahalaga sa amin. Mag-ingat po tayong lahat,” it said.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has assured that it is closely watching over the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Israel along with the Embassy of the Philippines in Tel Aviv and Migrant Workers Office-Israel.

As of this writing, the foreign department has yet to issue statement on the number of affected Filipinos amidst the war.
