Former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has declined to participate in a television interview along with his fellow presidential candidates regarding their position on national and international issues, a network announced Friday night.
Although Marcos was seen in the teaser of GMA News' The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews to be aired on Saturday night, the network revealed that the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas’ standard-bearer was not among the aspirants interviewed in the program.
The news program noted that it extended its invitation to the five leading presidential aspirants but only Vice President Leni Robredo, Sens. Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno accepted and sat down for a one-on-one interview with the veteran journalist.
In the teaser, the aspirants were asked about "their intentions behind running for the position, the controversies have thrown at them, their stand on pressing issues, and their concrete plans should they be elected."
They were also asked about the various controversies they had faced.
As of writing, the Marcos camp has yet to comment on the reason why he skipped the GMA interview.
