President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Tuesday directed the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to continue the rollout of cash to aid every poor Filipino household.
In his speech during the 72nd founding anniversary of DSWD, he said the department should "continue calibrating" the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
"And strengthening the protection initiatives, especially as the measure that we undertake to address poverty is through the grants we provide for the health needs of every household and education of our children," he added.
The President also called the department to continue the implementation of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program.
He said the UCT program would help poor individuals who do not benefit from the lower income tax rates and are severely affected by the rising prices of goods.
"Let us also enhance the social pension program for indigent senior citizens as a means to augment their daily subsistence and medical needs," Marcos said.
Furthermore, the President encouraged the department to "remain steadfast in its commitment" to ensure that Filipinos will be provided with great quality service.
