President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. admitted that he wished to report on more subjects during his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 24, at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
When questioned if he was satisfied with his second SONA, Marcos described it as "lacking," pointing out that there was so much to go through even as he recorded major advances in his one year in office.
Marcos stated that he would allow members of his cabinet to elaborate on the specifics of his SONA.
The President reported to the Filipinos about his accomplishments during his first year in office.
While highlighting important successes in the country's economy, health system, education, and infrastructure, Marcos stated that he is looking forward to the adoption of priority legislation to improve the lives of Filipinos.
The chief executive also promised to continue the anti-drug campaign, but with a fresh face, focusing on community-based treatment, rehabilitation, education, and reintegration to reduce drug dependence among impacted citizens.
