President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated the national men's hockey team for bringing home the gold medal in the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship Division IV in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The Philippines secured the gold medal after routing Kuwait, 14-0, last Sunday, March 26.
"Our warmest congratulations go out to the Philippine Men's Ice Hockey Team and Hockey Philippines for their outstanding performance in the International Ice Hockey Federation Divisional World Championship," the President said at his social media accounts
"This triumph is a testament to their skill and perseverance, and we are honored to celebrate their success," he added.
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) also lauded the national men's hockey team for dominating the tournament.
"The Men's Ice Hockey Team went undefeated the entire tournament winning against Indonesia, host Mongolia, and Kuwait," the PSC said in a Facebook post.
