President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be heading to the United States again to attend the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held in San Francisco on November 15–18.
According to the Department of Affairs (DFA), Marcos’ attendance at APEC is crucial because 11 countries that are trading partners of the Philippines will also attend the gathering, apart from the founding member.
In a report by RH 14 Leth Narciso, among the issues that the President will raise at the APEC Leaders Summit is the adoption of an agreement on food and energy security, which promotes green jobs and the country’s resilience in the face of global challenges.
Moreover, he will promote investment in clean energy and deeper cooperation on health issues and modern health systems.
Apart from the APEC Summit, Marcos is expected to have bilateral meetings with other leaders, but the DFA has yet to disclose them.
After this, he will visit Los Angeles, where he will meet with businessmen and greet the Filipino community.
Marcos will also go directly to Honolulu, Hawaii, and visit the Indo-Pacific Command.
