President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro Herbosa to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of services by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
During a meeting at Malacañang on Tuesday, the President emphasized that healthcare services should not be compromised despite the zero subsidy given to PhilHealth.
Marcos reiterated that the administration's priority this year includes safeguarding the health of every Filipino.
In line with this, the President instructed Sec. Herbosa to focus more on disease prevention, as he believes it is better than treatment.
Marcos further ordered the agency to give attention to digitalization in order to make the delivery of services more efficient and faster.
The President previoulsy assured the public and PhilHealth members that the services offered by PhilHealth will continue without disruption, despite the 'zero subsidy' allocated to the agency in the 2025 budget.
He also pledged that the government would explore all possible measures to enhance PhilHealth’s services and increase reimbursements for insurance claims.
Similarly, PhilHealth reassured the public that its services will carry on, despite the 'zero subsidy.'
