President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. met with majority bloc Senators in a dinner at the Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, August 2.
Senate President Juan Miguel 'Migz' Zubiri shared a photo of their dinner with Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos on his Facebook page.
Twenty-two Senators were present, except for Senator Francis Escudero and Minority bloc members Senator Risa Hontiveros and Koko Pimentel.
"Maraming maraming Salamat President Bongbong Marcos at kay First Lady Liza Marcos sa pag host niyo sa amin mga Senador kagabi," the Senate President said.
"Nagkakaisa po kaming lahat sa inyong layunin na maging maunlad at mapayapa ang ating Bansa. Mabuhay po kayo at mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!," he added.
In a separate statement, Zubiri said issues involving the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have been tackled during the dinner.
"The President is well aware of the stand of the Senate on the WPS issue and respects the sense of the Senate regarding this issue," he said.
The Senate President added that they informed the Chief Executive about the resolution they discussed with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.
"We didn't well much on that topic as want to keep the dinner a cordial and casual get together," he noted.
Marcos' dinner with Senators happened on the same day that he met former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in Palace.
