With less than a week before the elections, the camp of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. is now aiming to translate the former senator's significant lead in pre-election surveys into actual votes on May 9.
In a statement, Marcos's spokesperson Vic Rodriguez urged their supporters to head to polling precincts on May 9 and remain vigilant of their vote.
"Please go out and vote on May 9," said Rodriguez, stressing that the "most important survey is the election day itself."
"Thus, we call on upon our countrymen to be vigilant and let us make sure that the true and genuine will of the people shall be heard, be counted, and prevail," he added.
The latest Pulse Asia survey released on Monday showed that Marcos remains the most-preferred presidential candidate by Filipinos, enjoying a 56% score in the survey carried out from April 16 to 21.
His running-mate, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte, also remained on top of Filipinos' bets for vice president with a 55% voter preference.
Rodriguez said the survey - released seven days before election day - reveals that the trajectory of the Marcos-Duterte tandem are not showing signs of slowing down.
"The message and call for unity have reverberated all over the land among a great majority of Filipinos who responded by continuously embracing the tandem of BBM-Sara," said the Marcos spokesperson.
"Marami pong salamat sa patuloy ninyong pagtitiwala at ang standard-bearer ng PFP (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas) ay nananatili pa rin Number One sa inyong mga puso."
(Thank you very much for your continuous trust that the PFP’s standard-bearer remains number one in your hearts.)
