President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. revealed on Thursday the names of the twelve senatorial candidates of the 'Bagong Pilipinas' alliance for the 2025 midterm elections.
“Ang sabi nila ang halalan ay panahon ng pagkakabitak-bitak, pagsisiraan, pagkakahati-hati,” Marcos said during the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas Convention held in PICC, Pasay.
"Subalit kabaligtaran po ang inilulunsad ng ating alyansa," he added.
The names announced by Marcos are as follows:
- DILG Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr.
- Makati Mayor Abigail "Abby" Binay
- Senator Pia Cayetano
- Former senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson
- Senator Lito Lapid
- Senator Imee Marcos
- Former Senator Manny Pacquiao
- Senator Bong Revilla
- Former Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III
- Senator Francis "Tol" Tolentino
- ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo
- House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
"Sa aking pagendorso, ang tanging hiling ko ay mapanatili ang kanilang katapatan at pagmamahal sa bansa," said Marcos.
Marcos mentioned that he believes that everyone has their own unique abilities to significantly contribute to the nation.
He further added that if everyone works hand in hand, the efforts toward a better future will be greatly accelerated.
The announced line up is composed of veteran senators, former members of the Congress, Local Government Unit (LGU) officials, and others who served as members of the Cabinet.
