Ferdinand Alexander 'Sandro' Marcos, the eldest son of former senator Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos, announced his candidacy for the congressional post of Ilocos Norte's first district in the upcoming elections.

The younger Marcos made the announcement in a program attended by his parents and local officials in Sarrat town, Ilocos Norte.

"I thank you for all the support and heed your call to serve our beloved province," he said.

He is also the economic consultant of the Ilocos Norte government.
