The Malacañan Palace called the circulating proclamation order declaring March 11 as a nationwide regular holiday for the Eid al-Fitr celebration "fake news."

In a notice posted on the Official Gazette's Facebook page on Thursday, it was said that Proclamation No. 729 was altered as this was copied from the document issued in 2019.

"It is a tampered version of Proclamation No. 729, s. 2019, issued by then Executive Secretary Medialdea during the previous administration," it said.

It was also noticeable that the word February was incomplete as there is no letter y.
