Philippine National Police Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil reminded the police force to respect and value human rights following the implementation of the recalibrated drug war operations under his leadership.
"Let us observe human rights," PGEn. Marbil said during the flag raising ceremony at Camp Crame this morning.
"Let us preserve human life," he added.
Marbil delivered the statement in conjunction with the International Humanitarian Law day that is celebrated on August 12.
The PNP Chief emphasized that police cannot arbitrarily take lives, a statement made alongside the announcement of his recalibrated strategy in the fight against drugs.
"Wala po tayong karapatan na kunin ang buhay ng ibang tao," said Marbil.
Marbil reminded all police personnel that they must use the law to protect the public and respect their lives.
Previously, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. described Marbil’s leadership as bloodless, noting a decrease in crime over the past year.
