The Philippine National Police (PNP) would activate the Task Force Manila Shield in preparation for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 22.
PNP Spokesperson and Police Colonel Jean Fajardo assured the public of having no possible threats surrounding the anticipated address. Moreover, police from several stations around Metro Manila, including certain areas in CALABARZON and Luzon, would also be deployed in nearby areas.
While the PNP would remain on guard for any threats at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City. The activation of the task force signifies the dawn of security operations to address all possible threats that may put the office’s lives at risk.
The initiation of heightened security was triggered by Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement on appointing herself as the designated survivor after revealing that she would not be in attendance for the upcoming SONA (Who said this?).
