The local government unit (LGU) of Manila is now fully prepared for the upcoming All Saints Day, or Undas, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, according to DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos.
The statement was made following his visit to Manila North Cemetery wherein Undas' preparations are being made in anticipation of the possible influx of people tomorrow.
Joining Abalos is NCRPO Dir. Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
The system that established the cemetery was under the leadership of Director Roselle Castañeda.
Aside from the free ride, there are first aid stations and booths for lost and found laid out by the management of the Manila North Cemetery.
According to Nartatez, he is also satisfied with the security laid down by the Manila Police District (MPD) and hopes that the commemoration of Undas will go well.
Abalos also insisted that proper preparation is the result of the cooperation of the national and local governments.
The secretary added that it is possible that the number of people visiting the cemeteries will decrease because most of them went home from the province to vote.
