The Manila City government is studying the possibility of imposing a fine over the delay in the rehabilitation of the Lagunislad Underpass, which has caused inconvenience to motorists.
Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said on Tuesday, November 14, that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) should have completed the rehabilitation last October.
"Iyon ang pinag-aaralan namin ngayon dahil laging nasisi ang lungsod dahil doon," Lacuna said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
"May violation naman diyan kapag sumusobra sila doon sa deadline na ibinigay sa kanila," she added.
In a statement, the DPWH said that the rehabilitation project, which is worth Php 75 million, will finish on November 30 but the camp of Lacuna gave the national government until Wednesday, November 15, to complete the rehabilitation.
