At least one million revelers are expected to attend the celebration of the Chinese New Year in Binondo on February 9 and 10, according to the Manila local government unit (LGU).
Following this, the LGU said they have sought assistance from the Manila Police District (MPD) for additional security.
A total of 1,500 MPD personnel will be deployed throughout Binondo and in some parts of Quiapo, Santa Cruz, San Nicolas, and Tondo.
The city government will likewise implement traffic rerouting in the area due to the parade.

Apart from the Chinese New Year, Binondo will also celebrate its 430th anniversary.
There will be a fireworks display on February 9. It will be followed by a float parade the next day, with up to 40 floats participating.
