<p>The city government of Manila and Navotas has announced asynchronous classes in schools due to the nationwide <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/transport-groups-to-continue-with-one-week-transport-strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transport strike</a> from March 6 to March 11.</p>
<p>In an advisory, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has declared the cancellation of in-person classes at all levels in public schools.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan declares ASYNCHRONOUS classes in all PUBLIC schools in ALL levels in the City of Manila from Monday, March 6 to Saturday, March 11, 2023, due to the upcoming transport strike in NCR,&rdquo; the Manila Public Information Office announced on social media.</p>
<p>Lacuna-Pangan also encouraged private schools to switch to online classes for the whole week.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco announced the suspension of onsite classes at all levels, both in public and private schools, from Monday, March 6, to Sunday, March 12.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mag-aaral habang may transport strike, suspendido po muna ang onsite o face-to-face classes sa lahat ng antas ng pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa lungsod,&rdquo; Tiangco said.</p>

<p>Face-to-face classes in other schools have also been suspended including <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/angeles-city-announces-class-suspension-amid-transport-strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Angeles City</a> and <a href="https://www.dzrh.com.ph/post/classes-in-dlsu-to-shift-online-amid-week-long-strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila</a>.</p>
