In an advisory, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has declared the cancellation of in-person classes at all levels in public schools.
“Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan declares ASYNCHRONOUS classes in all PUBLIC schools in ALL levels in the City of Manila from Monday, March 6 to Saturday, March 11, 2023, due to the upcoming transport strike in NCR,” the Manila Public Information Office announced on social media.
Lacuna-Pangan also encouraged private schools to switch to online classes for the whole week.
Likewise, Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco announced the suspension of onsite classes at all levels, both in public and private schools, from Monday, March 6, to Sunday, March 12.
“Para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mag-aaral habang may transport strike, suspendido po muna ang onsite o face-to-face classes sa lahat ng antas ng pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa lungsod,” Tiangco said.
Face-to-face classes in other schools have also been suspended including Angeles City and De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila.
